Volunteer

We are proud to have about 35 Volunteers at the moment. Some that work from Home, ie; knitting pouches for Orphaned Joeys.
We have a regular Team of about 25 Volunteers that come in to work at the Shelter every day. Some come in every day, others work 1 day a week, others 2 to 3 days a week & some come in once a fortnight. We are greatfull for any time the Volunteers can put in. The Shelter is open 7 days a week to Volunteers.

Monday to Saturday
10am till 2pm. Open to all ages.

Sunday
10am till 12 midday. This day is only open to young people, 9 year olds to 14 year olds.
Sunday is the day both Helen and David dedicate to teaching the young people of our country & visitors from other Countries all about Australia's unique native Wildlife. They teach the young ones as much as possible about Animal's Habitat, what their Dietry needs are, how to care for an Orphaned Animal, how to house these animals & then finaly we teach how to release the Animals. You can't just take the Animal out, dump them & hope for the best. There is a lot of planning & preperation that needs to be done well before the Animal is released & then there are things weneed to do at the time of Release to give the Animal its best chance of surviving.

We teach all these skills to both our Adult Volunteers & our younger Volunteers.

If you have some spare time and you would like to volunteer, please contact us.
